This is not resold hosting with a markup. I design, build and manage the infrastructure myself, drawing on years of network engineering experience including high-availability hosting at ISP level. Every server is configured and optimised for the CMS it runs.
What "managed" actually means
Most hosting is a machine and a login. Managed hosting is a machine, a login, and somebody whose job it is to keep the thing running:
- The server. Built, configured and tuned for your CMS, then kept patched and up to date.
- Security. Hardening, certificates and monitoring, so the site is not relying on the CMS alone to defend itself.
- Updates. Operating system, web server, PHP and database, applied without taking the site down with them.
- Monitoring and backups. Server uptime and performance watched, and the infrastructure itself — server and database — snapshotted automatically and recoverable when needed.
You get told when something happened and what was done about it. You do not get an invoice for finding out.

In practice that is the difference between a support ticket and a conversation. When a deployment needs a server-side change, or caching needs tuning, there is nobody to refer it to.
